"Artist Statement" |

 I’m
a life long resident of Central Pennsylvania, and currently reside in the
community of Reedsville. My present photographic interests lie in
capturing the rural Pennsylvania landscapes and the unique lifestyles of
the Amish people that live there. Although the Amish are typically
hesitant towards outsiders, especially those who possess a camera, I’ve
been fortunate to establish personal friendships within this tight knit
community.
These relationships allow me to mingle freely among the Amish community, participate in and document activities, events and personal family moments. Each of my images is a reflection of my respect, understanding and genuine caring for the Amish and their surroundings. My goal is to combine composition, color, lighting, subject to capture the “decisive moment” in order to form a single artistic element that tells a story, exhibits an emotion or stimulates your imagination. I create works of art from subjects other photographers often find extremely difficult if not impossible to access. These images adorn many private homes in the United States and abroad. They are also displayed in several corporate collections. Each image is hand printed by the artist and matted or framed using only museum quality materials.
